Students for Democracy is a non-partisan organization based in Texas whose primary goal is to work with universities, community colleges, faculty, students and election officials to encourage students to work the polls and get more involved in local, state, and national elections.
Since 2016, more than 15 million young adults have turned 18, and it is our goal to be a resource, ensure they are informed, and have all the tools needed to get involved and register to vote. This next generation refuses to sit idle without doing their part to create the change they want to see. Today’s young adults are demanding change by leading movements and getting more involved in the election process. Join us to stay in-the-know about both local and national elections!
We want to close the distance between young voters and our democratic process by directly connecting you to local elections offices. Through our platform, you can immediately apply to become a poll worker in any upcoming election.
It is a common misconception that grassroots political workers, such as poll workers, canvassers, and lit droppers, volunteer their time without compensation when, in actuality, each individual receives an hourly pay for their efforts.
Scattered information regarding registration and election deadlines is a key barrier to true voter participation. As a result, getting people registered and keeping them informed is a core tenet of our organization.
